Jerzy Jedrysiak
Jerzy Jędrysiak
(born in Zakopane in 1954) graduated from the Academy of Fine
Arts in Krakow in 1980. He was granted the Minister of Culture
and Art Scholarship in 1982. A professor at the Art Institute
of the Pedagogical Academy in Krakow, he heads the Linocut Studio.
He has had almost 50 one-man shows and participated in over 400
group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He has won 36 awards in
graphic arts (e.g. Grand Prix and Honor Award at the International
Graphic Biennial in Bhopal, India, 1991, 2001). His works are
included in numerous private and museum collections (e.g. Library
of Congress in Washington, DC, and Albertina Museum in Vienna).
He is a member of XYLON - the International Society of Wood Engravers.
He practices graphic arts and drawing. In graphics, he most often
employs linocut.
He lives in Zakopane.
